The Future

Today I received a letter from Lloyds TSB. I saw the letter on the doormat and I was quite excited. I had applied to them almost a month ago for a role as a Customer Service Advisor. It is a low paying job but a job is a job. I opened the letter slowly, anticipating what it would say...

"Unfortunately we will not be pursuing your application at this time. Thank you for your interest."

How did I feel? Crushed? Sad?

I felt nothing. I'm used to rejection now and this is just another instance where I was not required. I'll move on. But to what? Well I am considering doing a Masters either starting in January, if I can find one that starts then, or next September. The other thing I'm doing is something I've wanted to do for a while. Write a book. I've already written some of it and I think I will continue doing so as it keeps my mind occupied. Who knows? If this is successful maybe I won't need to go back to university. A guy can dream.

An Update

It's been a month since I last posted, which is a bit bad of me since I don't have anything else to do. Funny how time flies even when there is nothing to do. So, what have I been up to in this last month? Well, I'm as unemployed as I was when I first started this blog but the good news is that I'm not as depressed. I don't know why I'm feeling happier, but I'm not going to complain about it. Time to live life and stop complaining.

I have had a total of 1 job interviews in the last month which was for sales staff at a local John Lewis. Haven't heard back yet but the Jobcentre Staff have let me know that the store is still deciding on who to hire, so not good news but not bad news either. It was an interesting experience, my first ever group interview and even if I don't get the job I learnt some things and had fun. I'm sure it's against the law to have fun in an interview.

Went to a job fair today which was for temp Christmas staff in the local town centre. A few stores present but I think I had more success when I went into shops and asked. Handed in my CV to GAME and told about a job in O2, which wasn't being advertised in the shop window. Might have some success there. The hunt is still going but I feel better about it!

Oh and my n button broke so I'm CTRL Ving that badboy.
